Things are slowly getting back to normal after my Grandfather's death last week. We came back from South Carolina late Monday night. It was good to see my Dad's side of the family, even though the circumstances really, really sucked. Haven't seen most of them in about 13 years, when my Grandfather remarried.
I've started my knitting project back up. I started on Dad's scarf before we got the bad news (H's is on the back burner, since it's looking like our entire relationship, friends or otherwise, can't be repaired), and it has really taken my mind off of my hurt and grief, and given me a sense of peace. It also gives me my alone time that I've been needing. I've also discovered that documentaries are the perfect background noise for me. I don't like watching TV shows or movies, because I end up with more stitches than I started out with. Can't listen to music, because I start singing along, which ends up with more stitches than I started out with.
But documentaries are perfect because for the most part, you don't have to actually watch it, listening to it is enough. And now I've listened/watched and learned some interesting one. Most of the ones I like is from the History Channel. My next post, I will list some recent things I've watched, and which ones I think are good. Gotta get back to my knitting!
