Things are slowly getting back to normal after my Grandfather's death last week. We came back from South Carolina late Monday night. It was good to see my Dad's side of the family, even though the circumstances really, really sucked. Haven't seen most of them in about 13 years, when my Grandfather remarried.
I've started my knitting project back up. I started on Dad's scarf before we got the bad news (H's is on the back burner, since it's looking like our entire relationship, friends or otherwise, can't be repaired), and it has really taken my mind off of my hurt and grief, and given me a sense of peace. It also gives me my alone time that I've been needing. I've also discovered that documentaries are the perfect background noise for me. I don't like watching TV shows or movies, because I end up with more stitches than I started out with. Can't listen to music, because I start singing along, which ends up with more stitches than I started out with.
But documentaries are perfect because for the most part, you don't have to actually watch it, listening to it is enough. And now I've listened/watched and learned some interesting one. Most of the ones I like is from the History Channel. My next post, I will list some recent things I've watched, and which ones I think are good. Gotta get back to my knitting!

When It Rains, It Pours
This week has not been a good week. A close friend and I are fighting, and it doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon. My unemployment has run out, kind of unexpectedly (thanks SO much, Bev Perdue), I recieved an unexpected "visitor" (not expected til the end of the month), and now, the icing on the cake: I found out my grandfather passed away while he slept.
I wasn't as close to my Grandfather as I would have liked to be. He remarried after my Grandmother passed away and seemed to be more concerned with his new family, but he definitely had some qualities that I admired and hope to have one day. Even though I didn't agree with some of the things he said (the man was a Tea Partier, 'nuff said) or did, he was a good man, and one who will be missed. I love you, Grandpa.

Happy Monday, Everbody!
So, I wasn't as productive yesterday as I hoped I would be. The room didn't get cleaned. There was no workout. I did, however start reading "A Discovery of Witches" (can't put it down), play Call of Duty: Black Ops, and got quite a bit of knitting done. I'm about halfway done with H's scarf now, it's actually turning out quite well. Not that you can really screw up a scarf.
My order from Eat.Sleep.Knit came in. I won a mitten kit. Maybe this will be the push I need to start a project other than scarves. I should probably buy some smaller needles. Any excuse to buy some more stuff from that yarn shop, haha.
Last night, "Once Upon a Time" aired since their hiatus. It was such a good episode, but I'm still sad that the Sheriff had to go. Looking forward to next weeks episode.
I'm not going to pretend like I'm going to be productive today. I woke up around noon, because I didn't go to sleep until after 4:30 am--thanks to that damn book. It's gray and drizzly outside; perfect reading weather. So I have the first season of "Law and Order" on for background noise, a black and white cat curled up next to me and my Kindle fired up and ready to go. Just gonna go make me a giant cup of hot chocolate and I'll be good to go for the rest of the afternoon!

Today's To-Do List
I need to keep myself distracted this week, so here's my to do list for today (I'm sure no one cares, but lists keep me on track, especially since one of my resolutions is to quit procrastinating):
1. Clean room. My brother is leaving this afternoon to go back to college. He totally trashed his [old] room, which is the room I'm occupying these days.
2. Get some knitting done. I need to work on H's scarf, and while we (I'm) are not on speaking terms at the moment, we eventually will be, and definitely before his birthday, which is in February.
3. Need to get supplies ready for my two classes, Accounting Fundamentals and Office Administration. I might sign up for a Spanish class, but we will see.
4. Find my webcam
5. Squeeze in a workout--which I'm not looking forward to.
I'm really excited that "Once Upon a Time" is airing again tonight. The holiday hiatus made me really sad. I REALLY like to watch TV, and I look forward to the few shows that I watch week to week. I caught up on the 7th season episodes of "Bones" last night (recently watched the first 6 seasons on Netflix) so I can start watching on a weekly basis. I'm also excited for Season 2 of "Being Human" to start on the 16th. That show is kind of cheesy, but for some strange reason, I actually really like it. For a show that airs on the CW, that is. It grows on you.
Well, that's it for me. What's on your To-Do lists?

Rant about Men
I have come to the conclusion that I will never understand men. Ever. And I think that I'm going to stop trying. I got stood up tonight, and the bastard didn't even tell me. I had to ask. Took him awhile to text back with a two word answer: "I can't".
I'm literally so mad that I am shaking. Can't even wrap my head around it. I shouldn't be surprised; This isn't the first time H has bailed on me. I'm such an idiot.
I have nothing else to say.
Except this (in H's native language):
Jodete!

Vampires, Werewolves, and Ghosts Oh My!
Ugh, so I'm hating myself right now (and so early in the morning)...did something that I told myself I wouldn't do. So now I'm eating my feelings. I had two bagels. But hopefully the rest of the day goes by smoothly. I'll work out later on, but for now I'm being lazy.
I started watching "Being Human'' (US edition). It's actually not a bad show. I've had it in my Instant Queue on Netflix for awhile now, so I started watching it, trying to take my mind off of H. It started out kind of cheesy, but it's pretty good. I guess I'll watch the UK version after this.
On that note, I guess I need to get back to knitting. That usually keeps my mind off off things.

Things I'm Loving
TV Shows: "Once Upon a Time", "Happy Endings", and "Last Man Standing". I LOVE OUaT. Like, seriously love. I love the direction that it's going in, the concept, costumes, everything. Well, except Jennifer Morrison. Just don't care for her. But everything else. "Happy Endings" and LMS both make me laugh out loud EVERY episode. If you guys aren't watching these shows, you seriously need to check them out.
Music: Still loving Reggaeton; Arcangel, J. Alvarez, and Daddy Yankee especially.
Misc. Stuff: Received my body scrub and body butter yesterday from PurplecatCreatives. I bought a sampler pack of body butters a few months ago and I fell in love with the Twilight Gypsy scent. And when I say "love", I mean LOVE. Her other scents smell awesome, and there are a couple of new ones that I would love to try. The owner ships items out super fast as well. Definitely check her out.
I like to make lists like these every once in awhile because I like to find the lists after a few years and like to see what I liked back in the day, etc. Weird, I know, but that's me.
